BURGERSFORT

The B.E.D. Group’s Burgersfort branch in Mpumalanga, on the border with Limpopo Province, opened its doors in 2008 near the mines outside Burgersfort. 

Justin Pullinger took over the reins as Operations Manager in April 2021 and brought with him a wealth of experience, having previously been in the position of Branch Sales Manager. 

The Burgersfort team’s operational area covers a diverse geographical region: including Bergsport, Burgersfort, Lydenberg and Phalaborwa.

The key industries which the Burgersfort branch supplies to include mining – mainly platinum and chrome – and the agricultural sector, focusing on citrus. The products and services that the Burgersfort branch provides to customers in the region includes bolts, nuts, tools, welding and cutting equipment, bearings, lubrication, lifting and PPE. 

As a manager, Justin says the keys to his success include staying humble, listening to his team, leading them resolutely, and respecting and trusting each person. The team members also come from different communities within the surrounding area and in this way, notes Justin, the branch helps to look after its wider community, which then reciprocates with loyalty and support. 

Additionally, this goodwill spreads beyond the Burgersfort team to the surrounding mining areas, where the branch is often found sponsoring a golf day or a charity.

Justin also visits customers regularly to ensure that they are happy with the service that he and his branch deliver – which is also an important part of maintaining its strong customer loyalty. 

The Burgersfort branch strives to understand every customer’s business, giving each customer the attention to detail that they deserve. 

As is found consistently throughout the B.E.D. culture, the branch abides strictly to a zero tolerance for poor effort, and, as a result, customers are never disappointed.
