MIDDELBURG

The B.E.D. Group’s Middleburg branch in Mpumalanga opened its doors in 2010. Operations Manager Marc Jewitt has been with the company for some 24 years, with the company’s Freestate operation in Welkom, and with the Burgersfort branch. 

Marc is currently in his fourth year as Operations Manager of the Middleburg branch and heads up a dedicated team including operational, administrative and salespeople.

This branch is responsible for all areas up to the borders of Mpumalanga, and the key industries that it services in the region include mining, engineering, agriculture, power generation and the petrochemical sector. 

The Middleburg branch sells the full B.E.D. range to its customers, including fasteners, welding tools, bearings, industrial paints and thinners, piping and valves, PPE, oils and lubrication and hand tools, to name a few. 

Marc notes that the Middleburg branch thrives on having independence as a branch, as it provides ownership and responsibility and creates a strong team environment. Over the past few years, the branch has seen continual growth and the future looks bright.

Autonomy encourages success, and gives each branch the freedom to trade according to its region’s requirements and demands. The Middleburg team places huge emphasis on both customer and staff loyalty. 

Marc believes that the keys to his success as the Middleburg Operations Manager include consistency, perseverance, an open-door policy, and creating a deep awareness that everyone in his branch belongs to the same team.
